If a fire breaks out in your home, you may have only two minutes to escape. To help reduce the number of home fire-related injuries and fatalities, the AMERICAN RED CROSS has launched the Red Cross Sound the Alarm Campaign and is partnering with the WASHINGTON TWP. FIRE DEPARTMENT to help Sewell families be better prepared for and take important steps to prevent home fires.
On Saturday, November 4, 2017 volunteers from the Red Cross and Washington Twp. Fire Department will be going door-to-door in Washington Township offering free smoke alarm installation in homes the need them. Volunteers will also be distributing fire safety information and talking to families about what they can do now to be prepared should a fire break out in their home. All Red Cross volunteers will be wearing a Red Cross identification tag while canvassing. Please feel free to request to see ID.
Smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from a home fire in half. Test your smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries as needed. For additional fire safety information, including free tools and resources, visit redcross.org/fire safety.
Together we can help keep you, your family and our communities safe.
